BMW Car Insurance - Did you check your insurance?

August 21, 2007 12:04 by Admin

so you saw your dream car. its a bmw car of course. and you about to sign on the dotted lines. wait, stop, did you check the prices of bmw car insurance ?

A survey conducted by an insurer found that 35% of people do not even think about car insurance before signing the purchase contract.

this lack of planning could leave people open to the possibility of finding that the car insurance cost is higher than their budget, and it could lead to major disappointment.

i nearly got into that trap myself. after deciding to purchase my new car, i almost signed the papers before calling an insurance company to find how much its going to cost. and what i found was shocking. on my first call to one of the car insurance companies, i got a quote of $6800/year. this was going to cost me the car in 5 years !!

but after calling few insurers, i quickly found a nice quote of $1800/year. which was reasonable.

so this is a sound of warning, do you homework, call car insurance companies and if you can call "bmw car insurance" specialists, it could save you thousands. literally.

i would love to hear your story, with insurance companies and prices quoted to insure you car.

BMW Special Style Recognizable All Over

July 25, 2007 19:34 by Admin

As you look at a BMW, you are sure to notice that aside from being a very sturdy car there are several things that look standard across almost every BMW on the road.  Whether a newer model or older model many of these characteristics exist, and for some they are being widely introduced across the newest models in uniform style.

One of the first things that is obviously noticeable about BMW cars is the aerodynamic designs.  From a spoiler on the front to reduce drag, to the overall shape you can find few cars that have as much attention to the design to ensure that you are not dragging across the road.  While each model of BMW is uniquely different in a subtle way, the overall concept is the same for all BMW cars.  There is not a single BMW that is prone to bad air drag unless the car has been modified after leaving the factory.

Another key trait in BMW design is the use of the “kidney” grille.  This is the name that has been given to the front grilles in the classic BMW design.  However, this design is not all old style, the kidney design came into light at a Geneva car show in 1933 and has such a timeless appearance that it has stuck around without looking old and outdated.  The primary purpose for the shape of the grilles was to help reduce the drag that the car experienced, which shows that BMW is truly after the best aerodynamics possible since even the slight change in the grille shape has created a dramatic improvement in the airflow.

Another key aspect that is included in all BMW’s built after the late 1980’s.  If you have looked at the front end of a BMW you will have noticed that while most cars only have 2 headlights there are four headlights, two on each side of all BMW’s.  This was designed to provide better light visibility as well as add a distinctive appearance that is unique to BMW style.  Nowhere else can you find four headlights standard with the unique round shape that is just a stunning appearance for style and functionality.

Finally, the Roundel is the last highly distinctive piece of BMW style.  The Roundel is designed to help remember the old tradition of BMW as an aircraft engine manufacture while at the same time the colors are reminiscent of the Bavarian flag.  This is the one major piece of distinction that everyone is able to recognize and respect when looking at a BMW even if the other touches of distinct BMW style are only known to dedicated BMW lovers.

Hydrogen BMW Cars Coming Near You?

July 10, 2007 20:06 by Admin

Surely, you have heard that there is a major push towards a greener planet with a huge amount of emphasize placed upon saving the planet and using less energy and fuels.  Well of course, every car manufacturer on the planet has grabbed this idea and is taking it in their own direction.  As you consider that vehicles alone are the one biggest causes of pollution, it is only natural that the car manufacturers take the green effort by the horns.

Consider that most companies are pursuing electric vehicles, or even hybrid cars and BMW attempting a hydrogen car is a sheer shock to many people.  Nevertheless, consider that hydrogen is one of the most bountiful elements on the planet and you can find an almost continuous source of fuel.  Consider as well that the main emission from the hydrogen vehicle is only water vapors and you can see how this has the potential to be something fabulous for the entire planet.

The bad news is that technology is not complete in order to really and effectively refuel the system, but with time, BMW is sure to perfect this task.  However, with only a push of a button it is possible to see a hydrogen engine convert to a gasoline engine.  This allows you to ensure you have the fuels needed.  While it may be several years before the hydrogen cars, actually hit the market they are determined to hit the market with the speed, style and power that is typical of a BMW.

With the technology being conducted towards a 12-cylinder engine this is plenty of horsepower for most cars and keeps typical BMW class and power right at your fingers while still working hard to improve the energy efficiency of the cars.  Only time will tell how effective this will truly happen to be.  The great news is that Germany currently has five liquid hydrogen refueling stations and there are two scheduled to be built soon in the United States.  This is great news for the hydrogen technology that is on the verge of erupting into one of the most promising fuel-efficient technologies currently available on the market.

As time progresses we should see great hope of seeing the model and concept hydrogen cars from BMW make their way to car shows and showrooms across the world.  Time will tell exactly how long it will take, but the design and inner workings of the engine is sure to be a very exciting design that will capture the hearts and interest of the environmental enthusiast across the world.

Fuel Efficiency in a BMW

July 6, 2007 21:45 by Admin

As we look towards ways to reduce that sticker shock that happens every time you try to gas up your car you must think creatively.  While many car manufacturers are looking for ways to improve fuel efficiency there is no way that BMW will be left in the dust.  Introduced in their European line of cars they have already introduced to the market the diesel engines that are durable and able to hold up to the hassles that normal road conditions toss in the direction of your car without having to stop for continuous gas fill-ups.

As you consider that diesel is able to handle as much as 37 miles per gallon highway for the European models it is a massive improvement that most other car manufacturers are only able to dream of.  With most car manufacturers being happy at producing a car that is capable of barely 30 miles per gallon on the highway BMW has stepped it up a notch so that it is very possible to go much further before you ever need to stop.

This makes the BMW diesel cars some of the most fuel-efficient cars on the market even surpassing some of the hybrid cars that are designed to run on a mixture of electricity and gasoline.  As you can imagine, with the improve gas mileage that is possible, it is also a huge help with reduced carbon emissions.  The average emissions for a BMW diesel engine is as much as 20% less than the emissions of a comparable sized gasoline engine.  This small reduction equals up to a huge help towards improving the environment through simple things that all vehicle owners can look into.

As you can imagine BMW will certainly be bringing the great fuel-efficient diesel vehicles over from Europe with the US versions slated to hit the road in 2008 models.  This means towards the end of 2007 you can expect to see the great diesel models showing up in BMW showrooms around the United States ready and waiting to show just how great BMW technology is when you combine it with fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.

Look forward to test driving one of these great diesel cars, but do not expect to see a difference in performance from the gasoline powered models.  BMW has worked very hard to ensure that it is a seamless transition for those BMW fans who are looking forward to the great technology coming across the ocean and showing up in the US showrooms soon.
