Ripped Off by BMW Car Insurance

March 10, 2008 06:58 by Tajvi

I was exasperated hearing from a friend of mine on and often, how he got ripped off by an insurance company while getting the insurance for his BMW. I told him it was his foolishness that got him into such a trap. Our right to information is unhindered and we can get a non-tricky insurance easily. He only smiled at me. Bored of his inanity, I searched the web to see if there was somebody else like him. And Oh My God !! “ripped off by car insurance”, (without the quotes) this search got me 274,000 hits on the Google. How on earth could there be so many allegations against car insurance companies?

I started to read a few remarks. And amazingly, most of them sounded similar to the experience of my friend. It seemed to me that, there’s no devil left in the hell. All of them are back on earth, and doing their business, and of course, their business is to provide so called “cheap” insurance for the car owners.

To my wonder, some of the companies had a long list of allegations against them. Lot of complaints and negative reviews were in their balance. Still they were doing business. And it seemed that, they were doing even well in that. Most of the people actually don’t have much idea about car insurance and are often influenced by a pushy agent. And these people would do anything to sign you up into an insurance for which you will be cursing them and also yourself for the rest of the time to come.

So, take care before you sign up another trap. Your joy of riding a lovely car can easily be spoiled with the unease and agony of yourself being “ripped off” like many others. And they rip through sweet honey-poured words. They are our modern age “Jack the Ripper”. They’ll really rip you off and you end up ripping out your hair and still keep a smile in your face.

Lost in Search for BMW Insurance

March 9, 2008 06:41 by Tajvi

Much about cars, come in reality, think about the insurance. Our old (actually young) faithful Google is there to help (as we believe). Let’s see what our Google produces.

On doing a simple (most dummies like me would do) search using “bmw insurance” (without the quotes) there are some 380,000 results produced. Oops, I'm glad. So much information available! Of course, I don’t have time to go beyond the top ten results so the first page is more than enough for me.

In my search today at 1922 hours GMT, the top result was “BMW Financial Services: Insurance” from www.bmw.co.uk. As per Google's Law, if I would have felt lucky I could end up hitting here. Well, I'm not that lucky. So opening it in a new window leads me to some site. It’s the site of who-knows-whose. Because the very page didn’t have any direct clue for us; the laymen. Ultimately after trying some tools and wasting some time, it figured out to be nothing but mainly a car-seller (seems to be in UK), whose exact identity is not yet clear. Wait, wait, I think it’s the official BMW site of UK. What-a-heck!

So let’s hit the runner up. Having seen the previous result, clicking on this page brings me a same style . Well, I guess, it’s the official BMW seller in Australia. Amusingly, here the insurance is a sub-menu under the BMW parts menu. And in my ill fate, not much about insurance here. Wait, wait, there’s a last line saying “For more information please click on the link below:”, okay, okay, but where’s the link? Is it my browser that’s not compatible or it’s me that not getting something !

But how on Earth I don’t get anything American? Ops, here’s the next link. It’s American ! bmw.usa, finally. But, is it the same BMW seller in USA or …. Hmm, my guess is right. I’m not going to get my insurance from a seller or someone who’ll become ultimately a middleman between me and the insurance company.

I think the next link will work. It sounds like it’s an insurance company. But wait, some more steps, more links, not the exact information I’m looking for. Enough with Google. Get some rest. I’m calling my cousin who has got a BMW, too.
